The title had me curious but, as you'll see, the connection is tenuous at best. It still, however, speaks positively to the author's background.

I'm with you Dire about the heading. Very intriguing for it just to be a nod like that but still nice to see the boys still be quoted in national news.

I don't think any politician who recieves their universal for life healthcare should be allowed to vote against it for the rest of us who are paying for theirs. All this boogeyman Socialist medicine crap is just that. As if you couldn't purchase supplemental if you were worried.

Guess what - they have it up here for kids ( yeah that's right Palin we have socialized medicine for kids, no thanks to you of course )and it works great for the families that qualify ( and WORKING people can qualify, especially single mothers ).

JOS--

Spot on and G-dam,n right. Just for once I'd love to see one of those right-wing lawmaker dickheads who are pushing the dreaded 'socialism' button to block expansion of health care step up and say "Oh, and just to prove i'm not a complete and total hypocrite, I hearby forfeit and/or donate MY FREE UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE COVERAGE so I can pay into a for-profit who-gives-a-shit-about-your-actual-health HMO like the rest of you suckers.

It just boggles the mind that the very same legislators who by benefit only of their suited cush job in Washington get the kind of health care the rest of us can only dream of continuously block its implementation and then cry "socialism".

It's the Sarah Palin factor all over again. Cry about America becoming a nanny state when your own home state feeds deeper off the federal teat than almost any other.

Brought to you by Fox and the same "Tea Party" dirtbags who call Obama a fascist because he dares raise the marginal tax rate on people making more than a quarter million a year by 3 fucking percent. While the other 97% of the country actually gets a tax reduction. I weep real tears for the guy making $300,000 a year who now has to fork over an extra $34 a week in taxes. Poor baby.

I see you are still calling people names that don't agree with you... ok then... I think I speak for everyone here when I say this:

You are the dirty slimy scum under a dead monkey's ballsack after burning for a week in the sun in a maggot infested, stagnant pond populated by mosquito larvea and some unknown infectious genetic disease. On the shore of this pool of filth are carcasses of mangled examples of all the species on the planet, a virtual noah's ark of mangled animal cadavers of all kinds. Radiating out from this center of contagion and plague are black twisting veins of death and disease pulsating to the industrial clanging of low frequency inorganic pulses... thick acrid plumes of smoke rise from the depravity around you as you nestle into the creases of the deceased monky scrotum in your redundant fungal existence in the middle of shitville.

As we zoom out we see this area is cancerous blemish on a vibrant green and blue sphere where the rest of us live. We only visit your pit to pour refuse, excrement and bloody semen swirl treats into your ravenous stinkhole of a hungry mouth. You pant and writhe in ecstasy as we spit, shit, vomit, defecate and ejaculate down into your pussy sore ridden throat and into your bile filled and acididic stomach. Evil, stupidity and ignorance churn in your primitive intestines and gaseous pockets of nonsense bubble up and out of your stinking mouth in the form of unsophisticated and unsubstantiated fart clouds of retardation....

You nustle further into the folds of your late symian ballsack microcosm and chemically masterbate, regurgitate and imitate the molecules of flotsam and jetsom that inhabit your inhospitable realm.

I hope the sun above you explodes, burning off the atmosphere and sterilizing your negativity from the universe and the loss of all the other life will be a necessary cost of opportunity to rid the cosmos of your uninformed and exaggerated utterances of gibberish that make this look like jack london.

Right and socialized medicine has done so much to hold down the cost of healthcare. At least that's the Koolaid the liar in the White House is selling.

I like the "hey you can always buy supplemental coverage" line. Yeah all you working stiffs get to pay twice.

It doesn't matter what party we're talking about, government is not the answer to reducing healthcare costs. Politicians will always cater to whatever is going to get them re-elected and they could care less how much it costs. Just look at all the perks they vote for themselves. Wouldn't you like to work a job for 5 years and qualify for a pension?

Don't you think the Kool Aid line has been used to death? What's next? " Da Bomb" or something? And being that I've SEEN it work first hand I think it must be you drinking it dittohead.

FACT - Denali kid care, look it up. I've known several people who've had it for their kids and guess what? - they can go to any doctor and get care for their kids. These are not welfare people, primarily single parents who don't make over something like 30K or more. I'm not sure the dollar amount but it's not welfare or minimum wage people.Me? I pay a premium and deductible and while the insurance I have is certainly better than being self insured, I still pay a considerable amount for prescriptions and Dr.s visits etc.

I'd like to know who all these people waiting in their bread lines for socialized medicine are. I've seen that stuff down there at Kaisers in the U.S. but EVERY person I've ever met from Canada, Australia, Europe, etc. ALL have the same confused look on their face when I ask them questions. " i don't think about it, you get sick you go to the Dr. and it's free." You can say what you want about how much tax they pay but yet they ALL seem content with their standard of living.

Also, you want to talk about the private sector? Who's subsidizing pharaceutical research? Taxpayers. If the private sector is so wonderful why aren't the politicians that are opposed to these so called " socialized medicine" programs opting not to take their tax payer provided insurance? Maybe because it's better coverage.

There's a reason why the insurance industry is one of the largest lobbying groups if not the largest.

just EXACTLY the one line I knew you'd bite on. Yeah, It's my Federal tax dollars paying for that. I'd rather them going to helping people in real positive verifiable ways than killing people or making rich corporations more rich. Don't even try to go the corpoorate welfare arguement if you're taking a conservative " argument".

My argument is with lying politicians manipulating the debate. Here you think YOUR Federal tax dollars will be going for "goodness" but in reality it'll just create a more bloated bureaucracy. Just look at Obama's announcement this week adding 800 more IRS agents to intrude into our lives.

I don't care what the question is more government is never the answer.

true...if you're a working american with a knowledge of what liberty & freedom is.
If you're on the gov dole, like welfare and such, more government IS the answer.
Shaddup & pay more taxes you rich swine!

Went to the well but the water was dry
Dipped my bucket in the clear blue sky
Looked in the bottom and what did I see?
The whole damned world looking back at me

If I was a bottle I'd spill for love
Sake of mercy I'd kill for love
If I was a liar I'd lie for love
Sake of my baby I'd die for love
Sake of my baby I'd die for love

Ooo, freedom
Ooo, liberty
Ooo, leave me alone

I'm gonna find my own way home

What the hell give them all FREE health and a car to get them to work. At least that's what Obama's twin in Massachusetts is doing.

http://news.bostonherald.com/news/regional/view/2009_05_07_Free_cars_for_poor_fuel_road_rage/srvc=home&;position=also

Almost as good as the eletric wheelchair give away that the city had a couple of years back. Every panhandling bum in the city had their begging cups taped to the handle bars as they cruised the sidewalks around the train terminals. Of course the chairs disappeared once the batteries died and the bums sold them for scrap in order to buy a bottle of comfort. Another brilliant do gooder scheme gone awry.

I agree Rasta but I can honestly say that if I needed to feed my family I'd do it by any means nescessary and not feel guilty about it. I'm glad to hear you say positive things about the work ethic because I have always believed the VAST majority of immigrants legal or illegal are hard working law abiding people. Sure some are scum but we have plenty of homegrown scum too. See? We can agree on things. I also think it's absolutely retarded to give any public benefits if you're here illegally. NO other Country tolerates that, even way liberal ones. I think every one has a right to emergency care because that's just plain humanity, but Jesus, how could you not be deported right after? Ridiculous.

In Vermont there are an estimated 2,500 mostly illegal Mexicans working dairy farms around the state.

Ask ANY of the farmers what they would do without them. Every single one will tell you that if not for those workers, who are doing the jobs they could not get locals to do at even a decent wage, their farms would have had to be sold off years ago. These guys work harder in one day than most of us do in a month, and the low wages they get allow us to eat salads that don't cost $24 a bowl.

If the American dream is working hard to make a better life for yourself and your family, why are the Lou Dobbses of the world, who sit around on their fat asses and get paid six figures to talk into a camera for a few hours a day, allowed to drive the debate?

yes, we have to figure out how to accomodate the extra cost for the bodies, but getting here legally takes literally years because the system is not equipped to handle the "huddled masses yearning to breathe free."

So if you were in their position, and you were willing to work your ass off, and met a grateful farmer who was struggling to keep his land that he's had in his family for generations from being sold to a McMansion developer, hell yes, you WOULD haul your ass illegally over the border to make it happen.

Walking a mile in someone else's shoes is hard to do, but if the words on that statue of Liberty are to mean anything at all, they have to be taken at more than just lip service.

lots of Democrat's see it that way, so there is hope.
And I agree on emergency care, then screening for the bad guys and also health screening. Bush & Fox were culprits in allowing such illegal immigration. Even the grate Ronald Reagan gave ammnesty to millions.
(as I'm typing, the 5/7/89 Victim and the Crime is playing)
interesting.

I love how the Republican Fear Machine is screaming that Universal Healthcare amounts to pure Socialism. If that's their reasoning, they must think that Medicare amounts to Stalin in a hospital gown.

On some level they're right about markets being better, yet they can't seem to understand a need for regulation. Many common people refuse to make an effort to to understand oligopoly and natural monopolies, especially for public goods.

And wingnuts specifically have memory problems with Republican spending, which in the 28 of the last 40 years has been out of control with excess and corruption.

Sure markets will work if properly policed, but the massive trickery of the Bushites is so clear that people who continue to defend free market claims are lying or ignorant. Talk about a road to nowhere.
